MATERIALS:
Marble
Limestone is the origin of the exisite, soft and crisp patterns that are beautifully smooth and even for something that is essentially stone, marble seems to invite a feeling of warmth and comfort in its swirls of what are essentially imperfections.
As they enhance the beauty and diversity of marble, the actual elements are clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, and chert or serpentine deposits. The latter, serpentine is attributing a greenish color to marble, as a result of high magnesium limestone or dolostone with silica that gave it the colors. The recrystallized substances form often intense and engaging sparkles and hues to the marble. The marble that is pure white has been metamophisized from extremely pure limestones.
 Stone
There is something about having one of the strongest materials available as part of the structure of your home, or the remodeling of any space ready for the catapulting enhancement that stone brings to a room or setting. The origins of stone are often Mediterranean, but quarries, the giant earthen pits of rock that have emerged from the millennia of being pushed up to the surface from deep within the earth, are everywhere. Inside the earth, the rock of these quarries was once molten liquid, colliding with gasses that in time cooled and became solids. Quarries where the rock is found differ by the color, hardness and crystal formations of the minerals there. Rock quarries are everywhere, in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe and the Orient, as well.
Porcelain
Porcelain in some forms is delcate and fragile, but when prepared in the process where it is fired at temperatures of 2000° F and above until it becomes vitrified, or glass-like, begets a material that is stunning in form and delicate in how it speaks as a design element. The different preparations of porcelain can create a substance sometimes 25% harder than other natural stones, such as granite or marble. Sometimes coloring preferences will affect the cost in discovering which porcelain to draw from in a project. Warnings are issued for choosing to have larger grout joints as they tend to crack and attract more dirt. K eeping polished porcelain stone shining is simple by thoroughly rinsing off the dirty wash water when cleaning it. Also, drying the floor with some elbow grease is a good work out and also gives it a lasting shine, at the same time preventing water spots, and easily done with a soft cloth or a buffing pad.
Granite, Glass Block and Ceramic
Matching the lines of granite, finding the finest in ceramic and suggesting its placement for the greatest enhancement, and commissioning the glass block that will suite the composition of your settings, all part of the services Kutrovics provides. In each selection of materials, there is consideration for the best use in the correct places.
Glass Block selected as a way to enhance the feeling of your living space, placing the glass block for its best use for controlling light, and considering such factors as time of day and considerations of privacy, if it is a shared space for home or office, make discovering the options for this room enhancing item fun and exciting. It beautification options go well beyond the more traditional uses.
Ceramic Tile Care Tip
• Clean your ceramic floor tile with a damp sponge or mop.
• Use a cleaner that is non-acidic and non-alkaline.
• Always use cleaners made specifically for ceramic floor tile.
• Find an appropriate sealer protectorant.
• Soap on your ceramic floor tile can leave a film and bring on mold and mildew growth.
• Ammonia based cleaners or vinegar and water on ceramic floor tile dulls the shine.
• Abrasive cleaning pads scratch and damage the finish on ceramic tile.
On Grout Joints
Grout can become a significant consideration in the choosing of tile and what one is to use in a particular space. Some say the thinner the grout, the less likely to crack. Other recommend that using the same size grout throughout the rooms adds a certain hard to notice consistency that is present in the overall composition of the rooms.
